It is election time! The mail in ballots are out and in-person early voting has started. Important dates:

Remember, if you are in-person voting, you can bring notes in with you to help you make sure you get everything marked on the ballot that you want.
When you go to vote, please remember that you now need a photo ID to vote. To learn more about the requirements, please go to the Nebraska Secretary of State website here.

The Nebraska Bar Association polls its members on judicial performance and retention.
Nebraska State Board of Education is responsible for educational policies for the state and oversees the Commissioner of Education and the State Department of Education. Half the board is up for election every two years, with districts 1-4 up this year. You can find your district, your current representative, their contact info, board agendas, and other information here.
Local School Board Races. If you don’t know your school board district you can find it here. After putting in your address, scroll to the bottom where it says “Districts” and click on “show.” This will open a big list of all the various districts, subdistricts, and wards associated with your address.
Action Steps
How are you doing on your 10 actions before election day? There are many ways to get involved during the last few weeks before the campaign. Postcards are wrapping up but phone banking and door knocking are still going on. Phone banking can be done from the comfort of your home. Reach out! It is never too late ask “how can I help?”

Our beloved annual film festival is returning this October and we’re excited to bring independent LGBTQ+ cinema to three cities across Nebraska.
October 17: UNL’s Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center
October 19: Hastings College’s Wilson Auditorium
October 20: Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in La Vista
The Stonewall Bone Ball on October 18th, 2024 at Omaha Firefighters Hall.
Halloween is fast approaching, and the Nebraska Stonewall Democrats want to celebrate with some queer joy for the spooky season! The Stonewall Bone Ball will be a multi-stage event consisting of a dinner with speakers to start the evening, then a drag show and dance party to close out the night. There will also be a costume contest - dress your best!
